TextFit with Garmin
An AI training plan that lands on your Garmin
Connect Garmin Connect once. TextFit’s coach keeps the next 7 days of your plan on your Garmin as structured workouts with your own paces, watts and heart rates, and reads your activities, HRV and sleep back to adjust the plan.
In short: TextFit is an iPhone app with an AI coach that plans run, bike, swim and strength sessions. With Garmin Connect connected, it adds the next 7 days of workouts to your Garmin Connect calendar, and Garmin syncs them to your watch or bike computer. Completed activities and recovery data come back, so the coach can assess them. The first 14 days are free.
What goes to your Garmin
- The next 7 days, automatically. Every planned workout in that window is pushed to Garmin Connect as a structured workout, so it shows up on your device like one you built yourself, beeps and step-by-step screens included.
- Targets in your numbers. Run paces, bike watts and heart rates come from your own thresholds, for example “Tempo ride · 38 min · 2×6 min @ 200–213 W”.
- Updates when the plan changes. When you move a session in the coach chat, change a threshold, or a new day enters the 7-day window, only the workouts that changed are sent again.
- Anything further out, by hand. You can push a workout outside the window from the app whenever you want it on the watch early.
If you’ve been building sessions yourself, the Garmin Connect workout builder guide shows what the builder can and can’t do, and what changes when a plan pushes the workouts for you.
What comes back from Garmin
- Activities. A completed run, ride or swim is matched to its planned workout and marked as completed. Sessions you did off-plan show up as unplanned activities.
- Recovery data. HRV, resting heart rate and sleep, which the coach compares with your own normal range over the previous 28 nights.
With that, the coach can give you three kinds of assessment:
- Workout: planned versus actual, and time in target, such as “4/5 · 82%” of key intervals inside the band.
- Form: Fitness, Fatigue and Form from your training load, computed in code.
- Recovery: 🟢, 🟡 or 🔴, with one-tap Ease today on a 🟡 or 🔴 day.

What you need
| Phone | An iPhone with TextFit installed. |
| Garmin account | A Garmin Connect account. You sign in on Garmin’s own page and choose what to share. |
| Device | A Garmin watch or bike computer that runs structured workouts from your Garmin Connect calendar. Your device manual lists what it supports. |
| AI consent | Given during onboarding; the coach runs on it. You can turn it off in Settings. |
Good to know
- Garmin and Apple Watch together. If you connect both, you choose a primary device. It gets the automatic pushes, and its data wins when the same activity or night arrives from both.
- Deleted in Garmin Connect stays deleted. If you remove a pushed workout in Garmin Connect, TextFit won’t push it back on its own. Push it again from the app if you want it back.
- Occasional delays. Pushes can wait when the daily Garmin sync allowance for your account is used up. They go through once it frees up.
- Reconnecting. If the link breaks, or you remove TextFit from Connected Apps in Garmin Connect, the calendar shows “Garmin disconnected — reconnect” and nothing is pushed until you connect again.
